For a long time doing what works in the search engines has been the main priority when setting up a website. Having the right keywords and being functional have meant that sometimes poorly designed sites have achieve great heights in the search engines and indeed made money. However a recent online poll by Webcopyplus now  indicates that 25% of users surveyed were influenced into leaving a website by poor visuals. This percentage is up on a similar poll in 2007 when the figures were only 6.6%.
