Two youth football teams which provide coaching and sporting opportunities to hundreds of local youngsters each year will be the beneficiaries of our 2017 charity golf day.
We hope the event will raise more £4,500 for ADASC FC and GFC Alfreton Town.
ADASC is an FA Charter Standard Club which, through football, provides children with activities designed to improve their physical health and fitness, educating them to make fitness and health choices from an early age.
GFC Alfreton Town is a girls’ and ladies’ football club open to girls of all abilities, from age five upwards. Formed in 1995, it is also an FA Charter Standard Club, gaining the status in 2008.
Last year, our golf day helped to raise more than £4,000 for NWG Network, an East Midlands-based nationwide charity that aims to tackle child sexual exploitation:
This year, more than 20 teams, representing a host of local businesses, will take part in the golf day, which takes place at Morley Hayes Golf Club, in Heanor, Derbyshire, on Tuesday 3 October.
They will compete for a number of top prizes including a new car worth £30,000, a holiday and a set of new Callaway golf clubs.
The event starts with bacon rolls at 9am, followed by a number of mini games. Tee-off is at 10.30am and there will be a two-course meal and prize presentation at 3.30pm.
Our Managing Director, Matt Wheatcroft, said: “Our previous three charity golf days raised more than £15,000 for local good causes and we’re absolutely delighted to be bringing the event back this year to raise money for ADASC and Alfreton GFC.
“We are passionate at about supporting sport at all levels here at Purpose Media, from professional and elite right the way down to grass roots.
“ADASC and Afreton Town GFC are both incredibly close to my heart, as my daughters play for them and I coach them.
“They have given coaching and footballing opportunities to thousands of local youngsters over the years, so it’s an honour to be able to give something back by rising vital funds to support the clubs and the hardworking volunteers who turn out every week to run their teams.”
It costs £250 + VAT to enter a team of four into the event, with all proceeds going to the charity. The price includes breakfast and a two-course evening meal. There will be a free refreshments buggy travelling around the course throughout the day.
There are also a number of sponsorship opportunities from as little as £50+VAT.
