Andy Young, one of our lovely account managers, is aiming to prove he is not ‘over the hill’ this weekend by taking part in a gruelling 10k charity hill run in the Peak District.
He is part of Over the Hill Runners, a group of friends who are tackling the Peak District Tough 10 2018 challenge in support of Cancer Research UK.
The event takes place in and around Castleton, in the High Peak. It is billed as one of the toughest 10k courses in the UK.
The off-road trial combines a steep hill climbs on grass, trail and mud, to get the heart pumping and thighs burning.
The group – which also includes pals Ben McCartney and Joe Hartshorne – aims to raise at least £350 for Cancer Research UK, and Andy has already raised over £150 for the cause.
Andy said: “I’ve been lucky in the fact that most of my friends and family have been fortunate to have never had cancer, but the problem is that a lot of them know someone who has been affected by it.
“I’m doing this run to primarily to push and test myself, but it would be pointless to waste such a good opportunity to do some good and raise some money and awareness of the fight against cancer.”
