Alistair Bullock was amongst those honoured as part of East Midlands Chamber’s Generation Next celebration of the region’s emerging innovators and leaders.
His Creators and Makers Award was recognition of Alistair’s success in growing Purpose Media’s video revenues over the past three years and of the results his team are generating for the agency’s clients.
Judges said: “Alistair’s passion, drive, and determination for all things creative really show through.”
Since being appointed Head of Video in 2021, he has positioned the service as a key part of Purpose’s portfolio, building the customer base and extending operations on the international stage.
Highlights have included filming a fridge being airlifted by helicopter over a Swiss ski resort as part of a campaign for a global refrigeration company, producing daily video output for a client at a five-day expo held in Milan, generating content for a Championship football club and creating exciting new brand assets for a major customer serving the aerospace, defence, space and pharmaceutical sectors.
He has also led Purpose Media’s work with Variety, the Children’s Charity – an organisation which transforms the lives of thousands of young people across the UK – as media partner for their prestigious property awards in the Midlands and the North.
A delighted Alistair said he believed the award helped underscore the important role that video plays in helping businesses achieve their marketing goals.
“Nine out of ten corporate decision-makers say that video is important for building trust in a company and similar numbers of consumers acknowledge that it helps convince them to make a purchase,” he said.
The Purpose team is able to produce brand films, promotional and social videos, explainers, case studies, 2D and 3D animations and motion graphics after carrying out a consultation to fully understanda client’s needs.
“We can provide anything with moving imagery that a customer might require, and we know from experience that our videos have helped the businesses we work with to develop reach, increase engagement, improve SEO, enhance brand personality, create better understanding, encourage trust and boost their competitiveness,” Alistair added.
A total of 12 awards were handed out at the Generation Next ceremony, held at Bustler Market in Derby, hosted by TV presenter Kirsty Shelts and attended by High Sheriff of Derbyshire Ian Morgan.
Lucy Robinson, East Midlands Chamber’s director of resources, said: “The level of talent this year amongst all the winners and entrants was off the scale. It’s tremendous to see the ingenuity of young people across the East Midlands.”
