Matt, who steps up from Account Director, will also continue to oversee the company’s client services team.
The move is the latest in a series of promotions for Matt, who joined the South Normanton-based strategic marketing agency six years ago as an account manager and has since progressed to board level.
“I am delighted to be given this opportunity to take on a greater leadership role, both internally and externally, to identify fresh opportunities, build new relationships and to support existing partners,” he says.
“My areas of focus will include encouraging the development of team members and ensuring that our core philosophies are truly embedded in operational practices, that the solutions we propose help our clients to grow and that the services we deliver are consistently of the highest quality.”
During his time with the agency, Matt has played a significant role in leading key client relationships and refining Purpose Media’s account development strategy, including the measurement and reporting of success.
He has been supported by the business to continue his own development, completing a University of Derby Help to Grow: Management programme – with some of his learnings now incorporated into the agency’s practices.
And last year he scooped the Sales & Marketing Leader accolade at the prestigious East Midlands Leadership Awards.
“I’ve always been driven to push myself beyond the boundaries of what I might think I’m capable of achieving,” he explains.
“I’d like to think that’s what makes me a good fit here at Purpose, because we are an agency which continuously strives to exceed client expectations.”
